Buy Tickets v4

Buying Tickets

As the New Zealand International Comedy Festival operates across many venues with different ticketing agents, the process for purchasing tickets will depend on the venue that the show you're going to is in. Below is some information on how to buy tickets.

HOW DO I BUY TICKETS?

Online

All of our official ticket agents are linked through this website. Please do not purchase from unauthorised resellers such as Viagogo, as these are not valid tickets and you will not be admitted to the event. Buying online is the most cost-effective way to purchase tickets, with fees starting as low as $2 per ticket and $5 per transaction. Some providers offer a ‘no online booking fee’ option. Start at 'Find a Show' for all show listings, then click on the BUY TICKETS link and we’ll send you to the appropriate ticketing agency for that show.

Please note: If you are buying tickets to multiple shows within one ticketing agent or venue, you will be able to buy them in the same transaction. Unfortunately, you are not able to buy tickets being sold through multiple ticketing agents in one transaction. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Mobile Ticketing

Skip the queue and get tickets direct to your mobile! You can now purchase tickets on your phone for shows through the Ticketmaster, Q Theatre,  EventFinda, or iTicket mobile sites and apps. No need for printing, just have your ticket loaded and ready for scanning before you arrive at the show.

Over the Phone

To find the relevant phone number, refer to the ticketing agent details on this page for the venue of the show you wish to purchase tickets for or click Venue on the left hand side of the show page. Please note that many ticketing agents charge higher fees for phone bookings.

In Person

Tickets can be pre-purchased at a variety of agency outlets and box offices – refer to the ticketing agent details on this page.

Door sales may be available at venues prior to the show starting, check the ticketing agents listings for box office hours. Transaction fees still apply to door sales, so it’s best to book your tickets online ahead of time to avoid missing out.

TYPES OF TICKETS

Shows in the Festival will usually either have a Traditional pricing model, whereby a Full Price applies every night, and there may be Concession, Group discounts, and Cheap Wednesday tickets available, or Dynamic pricing, whereby different nights of the week have different ticket prices. Here's a little info about the different ticket prices.

ARTIST SUPPORT TICKETSDid you know that on average it takes around 300 hours to create a comedy festival show? Even with a sold-out season it can be a huge financial risk for performers – so if you’re able to, you can show some extra love by purchasing one of these artist support tickets, and giving this performer a little hand. Note: Not all shows have opted-in to offering an Artist Support ticket price.

FULL PRICE - These are tickets are the normal price for adults.

CONCESSION - Concession tickets are available to Seniors (65+) and Students with valid ID. Concession tickets may also be available to members of industry guilds and unwaged people.

GROUP - Groups (usually of 6+) have discounted tickets to some shows.

CHEAP WEDNESDAY - These tickets are usually 20 per cent cheaper than Full Price tickets, and only available for Wednesday performances.

ACCESS & INCLUSION

The Comedy Festival is committed to continuing to make the Festival more accessible for all patrons. Please visit our Access and Inclusion page for more information about our full Access & Inclusion programme.
